The car raced by David Coulthard at the British Grand Prix last year, the Red Bull RB3, has made an astonishing £165,000 at a charity auction event.
The unique livery of the car featured thousands of photographs each paid for by fans to have their image featured in an aim to raise money for the ‘Wings for Life’ Charity.
The winner has decided to remain anonymous but their other items still available at the ongoing Wings for Life auction, including a Dani Pedrosa crash helmet, and the chance for someone to play a friendly game against the FC Red Bull Salzburg.
The original KTM Dakar Winner bike 2007 with gear has so far had bids of €25,000.00 and the F1 Race suit of Robert Doornbas is up to €990.00.
The Wings for Life Spinal Cord Research Foundation Charity is a privately funded non-profit orginisation that follows the principle aim of promoting research worldwide to find putative cure for Spinal Cord Injury (SPI) Paralysis.
With financial support, scientists can push toward cutting-edge discoveries and treatments to cure paralysis and associated conditions caused by Spinal Cord Injury. All revenues of this auction will be used to sustain a valuable research project. Since all running and overhead cost of Wings for Life are specifically covered by industrial funding, every single Euro will be used to support research only.
