It has now come to light that the Force India driver Adrian Sutil, would not have scored points at the Monaco Grand Prix even without the incident with Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen.
Earlier in the race he had overtaken under yellow flags for which the FIA representatives had merely reprimanded him, however, if he had finished the race action would have been taken and he would have been penalised, losing his points.
The Force India team claimed that because of the incident, for which they appear to blame Raikkonen, it had cost them several million dollars due to the lost points, but according to ‘Blick’, a Swiss newspaper, he would have been demoted anyway.
The Steward Paul Gutjahr said “We would have had to give him a 25-second penalty, because he overtook three cars under yellow flags after the Alonso/Heidfeld collision on the hairpin.”
