The F1 teams and drivers continued with their scheduled three day testing which ended on Friday at the Monza track in preparation for the Belgian and Italian races.
BMW Sauber driver, Nick Heidfeld ended Thursday’s test at the top of the time-sheets almost a second quicker than Felipe Massa set in the Ferrari on Wednesday.
Felipe Massa ended his day of testing on Thursday in the gravel after losing control at the Ascari chicane, bringing out the red flag as the Ferrari was returned to the pit lane on the back of a truck.
Lewis Hamilton in the Mercedes McLaren was the fastest man on the track on the final day of testing while Robert Kubica in the BMW Sauber spent much of his day in the pits after losing control of his car earlier leaving him waiting for repairs to be done and then suffered electrical problems later in the day.
Timo Glock had his first taste of the TF108 on the Italian circuit on Friday where he spent time testing different set-ups.
With only thirty-minutes of the session remaining, Glock lost control of the Toyota and clipped the tyre barrier.
Nick Heidfeld’s time of 1:22.621, set on Thursday, remained unbeaten as the fastest lap time of the three day’s of testing.
