The 2008 season in Formula One is when Rubens Barrichello will become the most experienced Formula One driver of all time.
The current record holder is Riccardo Patrese, which was set in 1993 with 256 Grand Prix starts under his belt.
Rubens 257th Grand Prix will take place at the Turkish Grand Prix on 11th May, when he will have 16 seasons of competition behind him and where he has achieved 9 wins, 61 podiums and 13 pole positions to date.
Barrichello made his debut in his Formula One career with the Jordan team at the South African Grand Prix in March 1993. He spent four years with the team racing against legends such as Ayrton Senna and Alain Prost before moving to Stewart Grand Prix in 1997.
He left the Stewart team after three years and went to Ferrari in 2000, joining his new teammate Michael Schumacher. He also began his association with Ross Brawn, who was then Technical Director at the team. Barrichello remained at Ferrari for six years, where he achieved his nine Grand Prix victories and helped the team to win five Constructor’s Championships.
Barrichello joined the Honda team in 2006 with whom he is still racing, with his now teammate Jenson Button and of course has been reunited with Ross Brawn, who is now their Team Principle.
