Mark Webber in the Renault powered RB4 finished at the top of the time-sheets yesterday at Jerez with a 1:18.628.
Webber was 0.474 seconds faster than that of Lewis Hamilton’s quickest lap on Tuesday followed by the much improved Nico Rosberg in the Williams with a 1:19.091.
The second Williams driver, Kazuki Nakajima came in third only a tenth of a second behind the more experienced Rosberg with Fernando Alonso in fourth slot in the Renault.
In fifth place was Robert Kubica who put in an impressive 116 laps throughout the day closely followed by Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren.
David Coulthard slipped into seventh place in the second Red Bull with Sebastian Vettel in eighth and Nelson Piquet Jr. in ninth.
The second McLaren of Heikki Kovalainen could only managed a tenth with Nick Heidfeld in the BMW Sauber following behind, Bourdais in the Toro Rosso was next, Jenson Button was in thirteenth place and Sato in fourteenth.
Rubens Barrichello and Adrian Sutil came in to take the last two places on the time-sheets for the day.
