Lewis Hamilton was top of the time-sheets today with only ten minutes of the second session left to run for McLaren.

Robert Kubica in the BMW Sauber was in second place nearly three-tenths behind Hamilton’s time, followed by the Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen.

Heikki Kovalainen was in fourth place with Felipe Massa finishing in fifth, unable to improve as his Ferrari stopped on the track with a suspected hydrolic problem towards the end of the session.

The second BMW Sauber driver, Nick Heidfeld, was in sixth place followed by Mark Webber in the Red Bull Renault, despite spinning earlier.

The Williams driver, Nico Rosberg was in eighth with Sebastian Vettel in ninth and Jarno Trulli in tenth.  The second Williams driver, Kazuki Nakajima finished in eleventh ahead of David Coulthard who couldn’t improve on twelveth place after going off track.

Timo Glock was in thirteenth place until he touched the wall on turn five, damaging his right front wing, dropping him back to fifteenth position.

Rubens Barrichello took that thirteenth place ahead of Giancarlo Fisichella for the Force India team with the second Toro Rosso driver, Sebastien Bourdais in sixteenth.

Not a good day for the Renault team after Fernando Alonso gained control of one spin at the first turn only to spin again and stall the car which ended his session.  His team-mate  ended-up sitting out for most of the session after abandoning his lap and returning to the pits with a mechanical problem.
