Lewis Hamilton

Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren is on pole position tomorrow for the China Grand Prix with a time of 1:36.303 on his final lap.

Kimi Raikkonen qualified in the Ferrari, three-tenths of a seconds behind him but ahead of Hamilton’s closest rival Felipe Massa in the second Ferrari.

Renault driver Fernando Alonso will start from fourth on the grid with Heikki Kovalainen in the second McLaren in fifth.

Mark Webber in the Red Bull is in sixth position but after changing the engine following the practice session he will receive a ten place penalty and will therefore start from sixteenth.

Nick Heidfeld in the BMW Sauber will now start from sixth position while his team-mate Robert Kubica had his worst qualfiying session and after claiming twelfth in Q2, he was eliminated from Q3, he will now start in eleventh due to Webber’s penalty.

Sebastian Vettel in the Toro Rosso will start from seventh place followed by Jarno Trulli in the Toyota and the second Toro Rosso of Sebastien Bourdais in ninth.

Nelson Piquet in the second Renault will start from tenth ahead of Kubica in eleventh and Timo Glock in the second Toyota in twelfth.

Rubens Barrichello in the Honda is in thirteenth place while his team-mate Jenson Button is down in eighteenth place.

Nico Rosberg in the Williams finished fourteenth fastest followed by David Coulthard in the second Red Bull in fifteenth and Webber in sixteenth.

Kazuki Nakajima in the second Williams is in seventeenth ahead of Button and the two Force India drivers Adrian Sutil and Giancarlo Fisichella.
