Lewis Hamilton in the McLaren secured his pole position today ahead of tomorrow’s German Grand Prix in the final seconds of qualifying with a lap time of 1:15.666.
Felipe Massa in the Ferrari had to settle for second place after Hamilton knocked him off the top of the time-sheets, followed by Heikki Kovalainen in the second McLaren.
The Toyota driver Jarno Trulli, finished in an impressive fourth position ahead of Fernando Alonso in the Renault and Kimi Raikkonen in the second Ferrari in sixth.
Robert Kubica finished in seventh place for the BMW Sauber team followed by Red Bull driver Mark Webber in eighth and Sebastian Vettel in the Toro Rosso in ninth. David Coulthard will start from tenth place in the second Red Bull.
