Rubens Milestone Approaches

rubensRubens Barrichello, will celebrate his 257th Grand Prix this weekend at Turkey, making him the most experienced Formula One driver of all time, and beating the record set my Riccardo Patrese in 1993.

Barrichello’s RA108 race car and helmet will be sporting a specially designed ‘257′ livery for the weekend, to mark the historical milestone.

Honda recently held a special event to celebrate his achievements by having ‘The Rubens Barrichello 257 Golf Tournament. It was held in Barcelona after the Spanish Grand Prix at the prestigious Real Club de Golf El Prat.

Rubens was joined by Ross Brawn, Riccardo Patrese, Lewis Hamilton and David Coulthard as well as Sir Jackie Stewart, the former team boss at Stewart Grand Prix.

The other guests included representatives from the Honda Racing F1 Team’s partners, members of F1 and other sporting media.

There was entertainment from Paul Barrington, the 2005 World Golf Trick Shot Champion, who put on a display of special trick shots for the VIP crowd.

The group had an opportunity to play an 18-hole tournament for a winners trophy, designed by the Honda Racing F1 Team’s, ex Chief Mechanic, Alistair Gibson and was manufactured solely from components on Rubens RA108 Formula One car.

After the tournament, Barrichello was presented with a Honda CBR 1000RR Fireblade motorbike from the Honda Racing Team in recognition of his record-breaking achievement.
