From today all local traffic will be banned from the roads used for the brand new Valencia circuit ahead of the European Grand Prix this weekend.
Held at the Spanish port for the first time ever, the Formula One Grand Prix is expected to bring €70 million into the City from it’s influx of up to 140,000 visitors.
This new circuit consists of 25 turns, high and low speed sections, good straight line speed and areas with good opportunities to see overtaking.
The track will require the cars to run with quite a low level of downforce although until the drivers are actually out on the circuit for practice on Friday, will the teams be able to see exactly what is needed.
Braking is expected to be particularly demanding with the the cars practically crawling around certain corners from 300kph, meaning special attention will need to be paid to the cooling of the brakes.
As usual with any street circuit, it will be particularly slippery for the Friday practice session but will get faster as the cars put some rubber down adding grip.
