Trouble For Jordan And Force India

Joy Ryder - Friday 28.03.08, 16:43pm

eddieEddie Jordan sold his Formula 1 team, the newly named Force India to Midland before the start of the 2006 season. However, he kept ownership of some of the surrounding land.

Now Mr Jordan has had the main entry road to the Force India’s Silverstone factory blocked due to a dispute over access across land that he owns.

Local sources have said that there are concrete blocks in front of the main entrance, which were placed there while the Force India team were in Malaysia for the second race of the season last weekend, leaving the team and employees having to use another entrance.

Mr Jordan said “I had to make a stand, they have to come and talk to me. I paid for the road and put it on my land.”

Apparently, Mr Jordan said that he had waited for two years for the Force India factory owners to open talks about buying the rest of the land.

He added “I’ve got no problems with (Indian billionaire and Force India owner Vijay) Mallya. It’s the people who are managing the business who don’t want to talk.”
